Blossom White Butterfly Party Dress

The dress for the day she gets to be the centre of it. The Blossom in white is a cloud of soft ivory tulle covered in tiny fabric butterflies, and every one of them lifts a little as she moves.

The butterflies are what make it. Each one is two layers of soft white fabric cut to shape and stitched only through the middle, so the wings stand off the tulle and catch the light instead of lying flat like a print. They scatter over the whole skirt and over two sheer tulle panels that sit on her shoulders and fall behind her arms like wings. Underneath, the bodice is smooth white satin with a sweetheart neckline and a low V at the back that closes with a concealed zip, and the skirt falls over a satin lining to the knee, so the sheer layers are pretty without being see through.
