The top is plain black cotton jersey, sleeveless with a bound round neck, soft and stretchy, the kind of thing she will happily keep on all day. It meets the skirt along a curved seam that dips at the centre front, and the gathered edge of the tulle stands up along it as a tiny frill, the detail that makes this one feel designed rather than bought.
The skirt is a real tutu: several layers of dusty pink tulle over a soft lining, full enough to stand out on its own, with a greyer under layer peeping at the hem. No zip, no buttons, it pulls on over her head.

Ordered the sage and the dusty blue for my two girls (2 and 5) for our fall family photos and they look incredible together without being matchy. The embroidered wildflowers are so detailed up close. Both dresses fit exactly by age. Our photographer has since ordered one for her own daughter.

The pictures do not do this dress justice. The butterflies are actual stitched fabric, not printed, and they stand off the skirt so they move when she does. We used it for her second birthday photoshoot and the photographer asked for the brand. Satin lining, hidden zipper, it feels expensive in your hands.

Sizing is exactly right. My daughter is 3 and a half and on the tall side, I went with the 4 like the site suggests and it's perfect with a little room. The shirred top stretches so she can get it on and off herself, which she is very proud of. The dots are soft and flat, not the scratchy flocked kind. Already in the wash twice and still perfect.
Sequin dresses are usually a hard no for me because of the scratch factor but this one is lined so the sequins never touch her skin. The pink tiered hem under the blue is such a pretty combination. She wore it to a wedding reception and danced for hours.
